I began my career as a special education teacher in Orlando Florida. My profession took me to Bel Air, Maryland where I received my second Master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University. This journey brought me to Suffolk, Virginia in 2009. I spent 40 years in the special education field, loving all aspects of my vocation. Yes, even the paperwork. I had a passion for designing educational outcomes that would make my students successful. Fast forward to 2019 to my retirement and I find myself passionately in love with a new occupation-Real Estate. It is my desire to educate and instruct you in the nuances of buying or selling a home. I will walk you through the process of understanding the paperwork with the outcome of you successfully achieving your goal of buying or selling your home.
Although my careers have consumed much of my waking hours I have still found time to feed my creative side by completing stain glass projects, making a variety of jewelry pieces for friends and family, and tending to my flower garden. To feed my fun side I “chased” hot air balloons in order to meet patrons at their final destination. I have also frequented the theatre and explored new restaurants with friends. To feed my active side I have hiked Old Rag Mountain and community parks, rode horse-back, and traveled for the purpose of finding camping sites to enjoy.
Family is important to me. I have raised two incredible adult children and relish every moment we can spend together. I also appreciate the times I can spend with my parents who are now in their mid 90’s.
When at home, you will find me with my partner, Al, who is a Marine-veteran and retired Newport News police officer. Always close by is my rescue dog, Chloe.
I have a strong commitment to honesty and integrity. I will have a strong commitment to you.
